Indoor air is often more polluted than outdoor air. Honeywell’s unique UV system works perfectly with the Electronic Air Cleaner to kill airborne contaminants, creating a better, safer, healthier work environment for you and your co-workers!
UV light covers a wavelength range of 400-100 nanometres (nm) and is divided into 3 bands: UV-A, UV-B and UV-C. Of these, UV-C (100-280 nm) can kill infection- and disease-causing microorganisms and protect human life.
UV light is absorbed into the DNA of harmful microorganisms, shutting down their reproductive processes so they are no longer pathogenic.
UV dose depends on the type/intensity of microorganism plus contact time.
A simple and effective way to disinfect indoor air and improve its quality
ISHRAE recommends that facility owners upgrade the filtration on their AHUs to MERV 13 or above, plus add UV lights to disinfect coils. The combination can help counter harmful biological contaminants and particulate matter. With Honeywell EACs, the efficiency on 0.3-micron particles is approx 87%, and on 0.1-micron particles is 70-80%. With microbial contaminants, the efficiency of Honeywell EACs is above 90%. Honeywell UV with equal distribution across the coil and accurate dosage can help counter most biological contaminants.
